Ronika, your presentation is amazing. I really wish I would have had more time to do mine. I have got to manage my time better. I can tell that you spent a lot of time on it. I like that you spoke on the digital divide. I feel like even as an adult that I am behind on technology. I am currently an aide in a title one school and agree with everything that you said. These students come into pre-k with no idea on how to use a basic computer. In the classroom they are exposed to technology, but at home they are not. I think that technology in the classroom is so beneficial to these students. The world is so technology based that the portion of the population that can not afford to stay up to date, falls behind on many things. Students can not go to online learning games and interact with online material. Our parents at school can not go online to apply for jobs, they can not bank online, and they can not become educated online. I think that the more technology based that the world becomes, the bigger this divide will become as well.
Texting and driving is a huge problem. I even fuss at my 53 year old mother for doing this. There is truly nothing so important that one should risk their life and everyone's in the car for a game, Facebook, or any message.
Cyberbullying is a sad, sad problem that adolescents face today. It saddens me to think that teens have even more to deal with now. The adolescent age is so hard to begin with. To have your name smeared on a social network would be beyond humiliating. I believe that students should be held accountable for this. I truly enjoyed your presentation. Great job!
Your presentation was not bad. I am also not where I should be technologically, but at least we are continuing our learning. You are correct, many can not do online banking and many other conveniences of out society. If we don't keep up with the latest technologies, we will be left behind.
